Division
It is mainly
responsible for:

Control life cycle
management of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic
Substances and precursor chemicals so as to ensure their usage
for medical and scientific research purpose only

Various drug abuse
prevention activities targeting mainly the
most vulnerable part of the community

Inspection of
manufacture, import, export, distribution,
prescribing, dispensing, patient use and
-
Disposal of these
substance as well as their prescription papers in
accordance with their respective guidelines
-
Issuing import and
export authorization of narcotic drugs,
psychotropic substance, raw materials & precursor chemicals
Narcotic drugs
and Psychotropic substance are prescribed only by an
authorized prescribers using their respective special
prescription papers.
Special
prescription papers are printed by the Authority (DACA) and
used to prescribe. The distribution and use of such
prescription is also controlled by the Authority, its branch
and Regional Health Bureaus in accordance with their
guidelines.
Record keeping
and reporting
Institutions
involved in the manufacture, import, export, distribution,
prescribing and dispensing should keep record and report of
the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, their raw
materials and precursor chemical as well as their
prescription papers, to the Authority or its delegates, in
accordance with their respective guidelines. The Authority
collects, keeps records and sends report to INCB in
accordance with conventions and protocols accepted by the
country.
