Drug Quality Control and Toxicology Laboratory Department
Physicochemical Div   Toxicology Div   Microbiology Div   Pesticide Div

The main function of the department is to ensure quality, safety and efficacy of drugs, medical supplies, pesticides, cosmetics and their raw and packaging materials through laboratory based quality testing before and after marketing.

Tests are performed according to international standard officially accepted by DACA: BP, USP, IP, AOAC, CIPAC and other in-house validated methods of analysis.

The major responsibilities of the department are:

The Laboratory has four divisions:

  1. Physicochemical Laboratory Division

  2. Toxicology Laboratory Division

  3. Pharmaceutical Microbiology Laboratory Division

  4. Pesticide Laboratory Division

DACA is constructing a new laboratory and office building at it’s head quarters. The constru ction is scheduled to be completed in two years. Upon completion, DACA's Drug Quality control and toxicology laboratory will move to the new building. DACA envisages to be a Competent Drug Regulatory Authority in the Region.
