Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What are the requirements and procedures to import and distribute drugs?

Answer 

  1. Obtain certificate of competence from the Authority
  2. Register the drugs, or medical supplies or instruments through the Authority
  3. Purchase order of products to be imported should be approved by the Authority
  4. Port-clearance permit should be obtained to clear imported product from port of entry
  5. Drug products should only distributed to authorized institutions and according to their level

2. What are the requirement and procedures to import donated drugs?

Answer

  1. If it's an NGO - Register and obtain a permit to work in the country
  2. Contractual agreement with the recipient institution
  3. Obtain pre-import approval from DACA of written requisition from the recipient health institutions or health bureaus to ensure the fulfillment of quality and other regulatory requirement
  4. Import the registered products
  5. Distribute the imported products only to authorized health institutions according to their level

 

DACA

 

DACA is constructing a new laboratory and office building at it’s head quarters. The constru ction is scheduled to be completed in two years. Upon completion the DACA's Drug Quality control and toxicology laboratory will move to the new building. DACA envisage to be a Competent Drug Regulatory Authority in the Region.
